TheAppLab was founded by James Shrager in 2011
TheAppLab was founded to house James' first technology project; Ladiator. Since then it has continued to experiment with technology and has designed, launched and scaled several mobile apps across gaming, publishing and social networking. The most notable success to date has been Landlord, a property trading game similar to Monopoly, using live real-world location and check-in data to give players the opportunity to buy millions of venues around the world. Landlord was launched in 2012, has been downloaded over 15 million times and is still being enjoyed by hundreds of thousands of people around the world each month.
James is a Product Strategist with 11 years' experience across proposition and product development, software engineering and finance.
After qualifying as a Chartered Accountant in 2010 while working for PricewaterhouseCoopers, James left to found a number of businesses including TheAppLab. At TheAppLab he learnt and continues to develop his skills in multiple areas of technology, including UI/UX design, software engineering, technical architecture, databases and digital marketing.
