TheAppLab was founded by James Shrager in 2011

TheAppLab was founded to house James' first technology project; Ladiator. Since then it has continued to experiment with technology and has designed, launched and scaled several mobile apps across gaming, publishing and social networking. The most notable success to date has been Landlord, a property trading game similar to Monopoly, using live real-world location and check-in data to give players the opportunity to buy millions of venues around the world. Landlord was launched in 2012, has been downloaded over 15 million times and is still being enjoyed by hundreds of thousands of people around the world each month.
